Yanyan Dong

I am a first-year Ph.D. student in Information Science at the University of Arizona. I am advised by Dr. Steven Bethard, Dr. Sandra Bae and Dr. Leonard Brown.

I also work as a research assistant for the School of Mining Engineering & Mineral Resources, where I design and build LLM-based intelligent systems to support real-world operational and research needs.

My research interests focus on applied NLP and LLM-based systems for real-world applications, especially in health and clinical contexts. More recently, I have been exploring the intersection of HCI and NLP/AI, through projects on visualization for interacting with LLM-based agents.
